FAQ

Answers that help you start faster

Everything evaluation committees ask us about the product, pricing, security, migration and support — in one place. Still have a question? Talk to our team.

Product & apps

Which apps are included?

The platform spans 31 apps across 6 pillars: academics, examinations, attendance, certificates and ID cards; HR & payroll; fees, accounting and procurement; campus operations such as transport, library, hostel, assets and front office; parent, student and alumni portals; and platform apps like communication, analytics, security and integrations. Your plan determines which pillars are active — every plan can grow into the full catalog.

Do you provide a free trial or demo?

Yes. You can start onboarding right away, and we also offer a guided demo tailored to your institution type, country and student strength. For leadership teams we run an executive walkthrough focused on governance, reporting and outcomes rather than day-to-day screens.

Does ez.school work for universities as well as schools?

Yes. The academic structure is modelled on departments, courses, semesters and sections, so K-12 classes and university programmes both map naturally. Solutions pages describe how schools, universities, multi-campus groups and coaching institutes each use the platform.

Do you support multiple campuses?

Yes. Each campus runs as a separate, fully isolated environment — its own data, users and configuration — with consistent reporting patterns across the group. Multi-campus governance features are part of the Enterprise plan.

Is there a parent app and a student portal?

Yes. Parents get a dedicated portal for fees, attendance and updates; students get a unified home across results, ID and attendance. Both are permission-controlled and read from the same live records the school administers.

How often does the product improve?

Continuously. The catalog is tagged Live, Beta or Roadmap so you always know the maturity of an app before enabling it. New capabilities ship without migrations or downtime on your side.

Pricing & billing

How is pricing calculated?

Pricing is per active student, shown in your local currency. You choose a plan and a student-strength range to see an instant estimate; exact counts are confirmed during onboarding. Yearly billing carries a discount over month-by-month payment.

What is the difference between the plans?

Basic covers core school operations (academics, admissions, attendance, fees, portals, communication). Standard adds examinations and marksheets, HR leave and self-service, and documents. Pro adds timetable, payroll, finance and workflow approvals. Enterprise unlocks the complete suite — campus operations, LMS, alumni, multi-campus governance, SSO and custom integrations — with dedicated onboarding and response-time commitments.

Do you offer discounts for non-profits or government institutions?

Discounts may apply for non-profits, government institutions and multi-campus groups. Talk to our team with your institution profile and we will confirm eligibility.

Can we change plans later?

Yes. Plans can be upgraded as your needs grow; your data and configuration carry over unchanged. There is no lock-in.

How does billing work for international institutions?

Plans display in your preferred currency. Where local billing is enabled, invoices and payment methods match your region.

Security & compliance

Is ez.school secure and privacy-compliant?

Security is built in, not bolted on: role-based access control with per-user overrides, activity and audit logs across modules, encryption in transit and at rest, and a privacy-respecting consent flow designed for DPDP/GDPR-style regimes. The Security page documents the control model in the same structure a security review asks for.

Is our data separated from other institutions?

Yes — strictly. Every institution runs with dedicated, isolated data. There is no shared student table across customers, and cross-institution access is structurally impossible rather than merely forbidden by policy.

Who owns the data?

Your institution does. Exports are available in standard formats (CSV/XLSX/PDF) from the reporting surfaces, and you can request a complete export at any time.

Are backups taken?

Yes. Institution data is backed up on a scheduled basis, and restore procedures are part of our operational runbooks.

Can we run a security review or send an RFP questionnaire?

Yes — we answer security questionnaires and RFPs routinely. Contact us and mention "security review" for the fast lane; the Security page provides the control checklist most reviews start from.

Migration & onboarding

Can we import data from an existing system?

Yes. Bulk import via CSV/XLSX is available for students, staff and devices, with intelligent column mapping and validation before anything is written. For eligible plans we run assisted migrations from legacy systems — analysed, dry-run and verified for exact record parity before cutover.

What does onboarding look like?

Choose a plan and sign up; your environment is provisioned automatically. You then configure your academic structure with guided tools, import data, and go live — with human support throughout, not just a knowledge base. Most institutions complete foundation setup in days, not months.

Will our staff need training?

The product is designed to be obvious for non-technical staff — but yes, onboarding includes training for administrators and teachers, and role-scoped screens mean each person only sees what their job needs.

Can we run ez.school alongside our current system during transition?

Yes. A common pattern is to bring one function live first — attendance or examinations — while the legacy system winds down, then migrate historical records once your team is confident.

Support & operations

What support do we get?

Every plan includes human support. Standard adds priority handling, Pro adds guided operations, and Enterprise carries dedicated onboarding with response-time commitments. Support covers product usage, onboarding, billing and account access.

Does the platform work in our time zone?

Yes. Attendance days, examination schedules and reports run in your institution’s own time zone, configured per institution — important for groups that span regions.

What happens if we decide to leave?

Your data remains yours. We provide complete exports in standard formats and a wind-down window, and the refund policy documents the commercial terms.

Do you have an uptime commitment?

The platform is operated for continuous availability with monitored infrastructure and scheduled, announced maintenance. Enterprise agreements include formal response-time commitments.
